“I … want to thank you though for giving me a chance to be a part of the Sex-Ed Squad this past year.  Being a part of Sex-Ed Squad taught me a lot about reproductive health and staying on top of the things I need to do without letting the potential aftermath of a night of temptation hold me back.  I learned that there is no reason to be ashamed of my sexuality and that there are ways to protect myself from pregnancy and STI's. After all, sex is a lot healthier than drugs or drinking as long as there is consent between all participants and proper protection is used. I also learned very valuable material about healthy and unhealthy relationships and the importance of self-esteem. That information has helped me see that I shouldn't settle for less than what I deserve or what I'm worth.  Again, thank you so much for the past year, it was a lot of fun and I had an awesome time.  Wish the Second Year Crew and new members the best of luck for me.”

What You Get To Do In Sex Ed Squad

You Get:

• To talk about sex and sexuality every week after school with an awesome group of people.
• To learn all the right information, so you can pass it on to your friends.
• To teach about Condoms and STIs in freshman health classes.
• To participate in fun stuff like Sex Ed Bootcamps and Sex Ed Olympics.
• To learn more about yourself and become more responsible when it comes to keeping yourself safe.
• To participate in a project that helps your school.
• Paid when you complete the program!

All Sex Ed Squads 2008-2009

Wanna Join!?! 

You Need To:

• Be a 10th, 11th or 12th grader.
• Attend Jefferson, Oceana, Westmoor, Terra Nova or Thornton High Schools.
• Be able to commit to an entire school year (which means if you play sports or do after-school activities that might interfere, you may not be able to join).
• Fill out an application.
• ALSO
1. If you go to Oceana, you need to be able to stay after school EVERY Monday until 4:15p.
2. If you go to Terra Nova you need to be able to stay after school EVERY Tuesday until 4:30p.
3. If you go to Thornton you need to be able to stay after school EVERY Wednesday until 1:30p.
4. If you go to Westmoor you need to be able to stay after school EVERY Wednesday until 4:30p.
5. If you go to Jefferson you need to be able to stay after school EVERY Thursday until 3:30p.

Sex Ed Squad is great for you if:

• You’re looking for more information before you leave for college.
• You want to learn more about public speaking.
• You’re really curious about sex and sexuality and want to know a lot more.
• You want to meet people and make new friends!

Listen to your announcements at school, look for posters and fliers, and follow any directions they say to follow!!!
